In general, the work shall consist of the following: The project consists of the construction of a new three-story, 120-room dormitory at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. Building construction is cast-in-place concrete. The roof is concrete tile on a plywood deck on wood trusses. Exterior walls are steel studs with a combination of brick veneer and exterior insulation finish system (EIFS). Site work includes demolition of existing airfield pavements, utilities, paving and landscaping. Bid documents are available on or about 14 April 2000. Estimated cost of work is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered. Bidders, subcontractors and Dodge Plan Rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive one CD-ROM. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including amendments to the bid submittal, shall be in paper medium. Electronic medium for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. Critical Path Method (Network Analysis System) is required. For this job, a small business is defined as having average annual receipts of less than $17,000,000 for the past three years. This solicitation includes bid options, which may not be awarded.
