Provide materials, equipment, labor, and transportation required to conduct maintenance on the Molokai Lighthouse. Work includes the replacement of the lantern roof vent ball, roof rails, ladder rails, catwalk railing, vent louvers, and sheet metal siding. Also includes repairs to the cast iron roof panels, vent ball pedestal, brass air registers, repair concrete surfaces, and paint as indicated. The work is located at Kalaupapa Peninsula, Island of Molokai. Entry to Kalaupapa Settlement and the entire peninsula is restricted by State Law and visitors must obtain permission from the State Department of Health. Kalaupapa is isolated with only small commuter and charter aircraft flying in an no rental vehicles available. There are no public hotels, restaurants, or stores at the site. Bids will be accepted only from contractors who specialize in repair of historic structures (soliciation will outline requirements). There is a charge of $50.00 per bid package. Only cashier checks or money orders made out to the US Coast Guard in the exact amount will be accepted. Cashier checks or money orders are not refundable unless the bid is cancelled. All work is to be completed within 120 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This solicitation is issued under and the resulting contract awarded under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (PL 100-656).
