The US Army TACOM-ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, intends to acquire under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, a production effort for an estimated quantity of 1,074 M300s, Dwg. No. 28206654-101, Fighting Position Excavator (FPE) Systems, NSN 1375-01-429-3510; 2,150 each M301s, Dwg. No. 28058683-101, Reload Kits, NSN 1375-01-429-3509, and 40 each Trainers, Dwg. No. 28058684-10, NSN 6920-01-530-5297, all of which have an estimated delivery of 1st quarter GFY01. Estimated options include the quantity of 1,054 each FPE s, 2,108 each Reload Kits, and 40 each Trainers to be delivered approximately 3rd quarter GFY01, and the quantity of 3,166 each FPE s and 6,332 each Reload Kits to be delivered approximately 4th quarter GFY01. The Government intends to utilize Alliant Techsystems, Hopkins, MN in a contractual action based on FAR 6.302-1, under the terms of a license agreement, and based on avoidance of duplication costs and unacceptable delays.
