ACTION ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN THE CBD ON 7 APRIL 2000 UNDER
SOLICITATION NUMBER DAAE30-00-R-0525 IS CORRECTED AS FOLLOWS: The
sentence "If the power source is a reserve battery, it shall be
activated when stimulated by an axial force of approximately 7.0
pounds." is deleted in its entirety and replaced with THERE IS A
MECHANISM IN THE FUZE THAT PROVIDES A FORCE OF APPROXIMATELY 7.0
POUNDS. THIS IS AVAILABLE FOR USE BY THE POWER SOURCE. The following
information is added: The operating environments available through
launch of the munitions and expulsion of the grenades to potentially
activate a power source system are as follows: 1. Munition axial
acceleration of about 75 g's to about 17,000 g's. 2. Munition
rotational acceleration of about 1785 rad/sec2 to about 338,500
rad/sec2. 3. Grenade expulsion from the MLRS is lateral at about 23,000
g's. 4. Grenade expulsion from the projectiles is axial to the rear of
the projectile at about 3500 g's. 5. There is significant wind
velocity at time of expulsion. 6. The target impact velocity of the
grenades is about 140 ft/sec. All other requirements remain the same.
