20 -- CSA MK 2 MOD 1 SYSTEM CABLES FOR 688I CLASS SUBMARINES SOL n/a POC A.R. Ketchum, Contracting Officer, SEA 02612, (703) 602-7707 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source firm-fixed price contract to BAE Systems Incorporated, 115 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA 02184-5203. The contract will provide for the procurement and installation of CSA MK 2 Mod 1 system cables on 688I Class submarines. A total of 28 cable and connector ship-sets and will be procured and installed. Associated test cables, engineering services and technical data will also be included in this contract. Currently, BAE is the only manufacturer of six inch countermeasure devices which interact with and deploy from the CSA MK 2 Mod 1 system. BAE possesses the necessary data, experienced personnel and manufacturing expertise to perform the work and satisfy the low production and schedule requirements. No other source has the technical qualifications and necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any other supplies or services satisfy the Navy's requirement.
