The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to negotiate a Purchase Order with the Foundation for Intermodal Research and Education (FIRE) to convene a series of focus group seminars for the National Freight Roundtable. This effort will consist of a series of roundtable discussions with industry experts and high level executives to focus on various initiatives, issues and ongoing studies within the Department. The objective of this effort is to convene a roundtable to effectively and efficiently marshal neutral commentary from the freight industry on existing efforts in the area of intermodal freight by FHWA and to explore the implications of future initiatives under consideration. Because of the competitive nature of the freight business it is very difficult to convene top executives and decision-makers in the freight industry. The Foundation for Intermodal Research and Education has assembled a unique team of top experts and decision-makers in the freight and industry representing all modes and aspects of intermodal freight. The team of top experts and decision makers that FIRE has access to are critical to the success of the National Freight Roundtable and because FIRE has both the expertise and access to the true experts in the industry, they are the only known source available to convene the focus group seminars.
