The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards = & Technology (NIST) intends to award a sole source contract under authority 41 USC 253(c)(1) to Burleigh Instruments, Inc., of Fishers, New York for a wavelength meter to accurately measure the center wavelength of the continuous-wave lasers. The required critical specifications are as follows: 1) Wavelength range: 400 to 1800 nm. 2) Absolute accuracy: plus or minus 0.1 ppm, for lasers with a =BD power linewidth of 1 Ghz or less. 3) GPIB/IEEE-488 Interface for computer control. 4) Minimum input power required for operation: 20 micro watts. 5) Capability of expanding the wavelength range to 200 to 4,000 nm. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned.
