a requirement for support services for research conducted by the
Laser-Plasma Branch. The Laser-Plasma Branch at NRL is developing a
large KrF laser facility that will be used for inertial confinement
fusion (ICF) research. The requirement involves engineering design,
fabrication, testing, repair and maintenance support for laser-plasma
interaction research as part of the national research effort on
Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF). The period of performance will be
one (1) year with (4) one-year options. This requirement is a 100%
set-aside for small business (SB) concerns See Numbered Note 1. If
adequate interest is not received from SB concerns the solicitation
will then be issued as open to all business concerns. The deadline for
receipt of proposals shall be on or about 30 days after issuance of
the RFP. NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue RFPs and amendments
to RFPs. This solicitation and any amendments to it will be available
via the Internet approximately fifteen (15) days after publication of
this announcement at the URL address provided below. Printed copies of
