The Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation Center (AAC), Austin, TX is contemplating negotiating a sole source procurement with Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) for annual software maintenance support for existing licensed software as well as new software products. Maintenance support includes providing updates and enhancements to the software, and providing reasonable technical support. Since the scope of the procurement may also involve acquiring new software products, this notice is being issued as a sources sought for all software products comparable to CA's suite of software. The current mainframe software are installed on IBM 9672-Y66 at the AAC. A list of the licensed programs is available upon request by e-mail. Respondents must clearly demonstrate how their products compare to CA's products by function, and what tasks are involved to convert. The Government must be able to use the software in a service bureau environment and/or in a parallel sysplex environment. Responses must be in writing and must be received within 7 calendar days of this notice. In addition, responses must include pricing and documentation in sufficient detail to allow evaluation of conversion costs, license, and maintenance fees. This includes the vendor's commercial price list, and GSA contract and price list. Responses received that do not include all requested information will be considered non-responsive. No solicitation document is available and requests for such will be considered non-responsive. The determination to open competition based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government, and if such determination is made, no additional synopsis will be published.
