R -- GIS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES SOL R5-00-20-016 DUE 062000 POC Sheila Georges, 707-562-8788 The USDA Forest Service, Region 5 (California) has a requirement for an indefinite delivery contract for GIS Services. The purpose of this solicitation is to obtain both on-site and off-site professional services to perform updating of existing vegetation maps, associated map layers, data bases, land ownership and administrative or management boundaries as well as developing new GIS layers for Region 5. The maximum duration of this contract will be one base year with 2, one-year option periods. The minium and maximum amount of the contract shall be $25,000.00 to $800,00.00 (respectively) per year, per firm. The Government is not obligated to order the maximum amount of work. After award, selected contractors will compete for individual work assignments, which range from $5,000 to $200,000 with a majority of the assignments costing less than $50,000. This solicitation will contain one Work Item. The required skills for this work item are: Forest Modeling and Analysis Forester II, Forest Modeling and Analysis Forester I, GIS Analyst Level 2, GIS Analyst Level 1, and GIS Technician. Firms must submit proposals on all of the above skills. The Contractor will be required to demonstrate a certain level of expertise and capability. Offerors shall be required to furnish a complete technical and price proposal for the above. The Government may award one or more contracts to qualified offerors. In order to qualify for award, the Contractor is required to maintain an office within the State of California or Reno, Nevada. Firms may partner or joint venture to meet this reqirement. Firms should have the capability of performing the work with in-house personnel or demonstrate a successful record of past performance management over specialized professional and technical subcontractors.
