2000 DISA'S ACQUISITION AND LOGISTICS REFORM DAY IS SCHEDULED FOR 25
MAY 2000. In conjunction with the Department of Defense's Acquisition
and Logistics Reform Week, the Defense Information Systems Agency will
be hosting Acquisition and Logistics Reform (A&LR) activities on
Thursday, 25 May 2000. The theme for this year's event is "DISA: The
Warfighter's Bridge to the 21st Century." DISA's activities will
include the Keynote Address by Ms. Mary Margaret Evans, Deputy Director
for Defense Reform. There will also be briefings by Mr. Stanley
Kaufman, Office of Federal Procurement Policy, on Performance Based
Service Acquisitions, Mr. Herbert Cowles, Office of the Undersecretary
of Defense for Acquisition and Logistics, on the acquisition workforce
environment and others. There will also be a panel discussion on
"DISA's Current Contracting Practices: What's Working and What Needs
Improvement?" The panel will consist of the following distinguished
guests: Mr. Chip Mather, Acquisition Solutions, Lt. General James Klugh
(Ret), ESET, Mr. John Hartley, SAIC, Mr. Tim Holmes, SAIC, and Mr.
William James, CSC. The activities will be held at the Defense
Logistics Auditorium at 8725 Kingsman Road, Fort Belvoir, VA from 0800
to 1545. Representatives from other government agencies and industry
are invited to attend the A&LR activities, however, industry is
precluded from attending the afternoon session, which begins at 1220
