The 42d Contracting Squadron, Maxwell AFB AL intends to issue an unrestricted sole source award to Alltel Communications (located in Montgomery Alabama) for 77 Motorola SC3160 800 digital /analog cellular phones and provide cellular service. The service plan required is as follows: free voice mail (holding up to five messages for three days), free long distance, no roaming charges, 65 phones with 150 minutes monthly, 11 phones with 400 minutes monthly, and 1 phone with 900 minutes monthly. The required coverage areas for all 77 phones are Central Alabama (Montgomery, Auburn, Troy), Southeastern Alabama and the Eastern Florida Panhandle (Dothan AL,Panama City FL, Ft. Walton FL), Southwestern Alabama and Western Florida Panhandle (Mobile AL and Pensacola FL), North Central Georgia (Western Atlanta area), North Central Georgia (Eastern Atlanta area), and Eastern South Carolina and Eastern North Carolina. The line item for cellular service shall be issued for twelve months. If a response(s) to this notice of intent is not received within ten calendar days from the date posted, an award shall be issued to Alltel Communications. The period of performance shall be 1 May 00 through 30 April 01.
