Spec) (502) 582-5664 The work consists of 20 acres of bottomland hardwood forest restoration, 10 acres of bottomland hardwood forest enhancement and 1,700 feet of bank stabilization. The restoration is to be located in the northeast quadrant of the intersection of Buckley and River Roads in T44N; R11E; S3. The 10 acres of enhancement and the 1,700 feet of bank stabilization will occur at Butler Lake Park on Lake Street in the Village of Libertyville in T44N; R11E; S16, 17. This work will constitute the fulfillment of mitigation requirements for a flood control levee project at the North Libertyville Estates subdivision on Buckley Road at the Des Plaines River. Contractor will be responsible for 1) planting preparation, which will include detailed description of clearing method and herbicidal use on exotic and weedy native species, 2) acquisition of plant materials, 3) species control, replanting and reseeding and 5) the installation of geotextile erosion control matting. Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria, listed in descending order of importance: 1) Technical Capabilities, 2) Technical Approach, 3) Experience and 4) Price (with price being approximately equal to the combination of the other three factors). Selection will be based on best value to the Government. The estimated cost range of this project is $250,000 to $500,000 and the Standard Industry Code (SIC) is 0783.
