The Coastal Systems Station has a requirement to Solicit for Sole Source for actuators for the Remote-Minehunting -System Development-Tow-Body (DTB). The DTB will be used to facilitate integration of the AN/AQS-20R with the Remote Minehunting Vehicle. This acquisition is for the fabrication, test, and delivery of actuators with matched controllers for integration into the DTB. Kearfott designed the actuators to specifications. As the actuator designer, Kearfott is the only company with the resident knowledge required to build this actuator. There is no known vendor, other than Kearfott, that can deliver this actuator per the specifications with the required delivery date of 1 December 2000. Note 22 applies. Posted 04/20/00 (W-SN447034).
