A -- SPECIALIZED IN VITRO IMMUNOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS OF STRATEGIES TO COMBAT HIV/AIDS SOL NIH-NIAID-DAIDS-01-18 DUE 080100 POC Ms. Lois Eaton, Contract Specialist, 301-496-0611 The Targeted Interventions Branch, Basic Sciences Program, Division of AIDS, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), NIH, has a requirement to provide in vitro immunologic evaluation for (i) the assessment of the quality and specificity of immunologic reagents of importance to AIDS clinical trials and preclinical studies; (ii) the evaluation of immunologic agents and strategies with potential anti-HIV activity; (iii) the examination of novel immune modulators for effects on HIV replication in vitro; and (iv) the evaluation of immune reactivities of patients receiving experimental anti-HIV therapies. These efforts will support a comprehensive portfolio of contract resources to discover and develop novel therapeutic agents for the prevention and treatment of infections caused by HIV and other infectious agents. It is anticipated that one (1) cost reimbursement, completion type contract will be awarded for a period of seven (7) years, beginning approximately March 31, 2001.
