Branch, Basic Sciences Program, Division of AIDS, National Institute of
Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), NIH, has a requirement to
provide in vitro immunologic evaluation for (i) the assessment of the
quality and specificity of immunologic reagents of importance to AIDS
clinical trials and preclinical studies; (ii) the evaluation of
immunologic agents and strategies with potential anti-HIV activity;
(iii) the examination of novel immune modulators for effects on HIV
replication in vitro; and (iv) the evaluation of immune reactivities of
patients receiving experimental anti-HIV therapies. These efforts will
support a comprehensive portfolio of contract resources to discover
and develop novel therapeutic agents for the prevention and treatment
of infections caused by HIV and other infectious agents. It is
anticipated that one (1) cost reimbursement, completion type contract
will be awarded for a period of seven (7) years, beginning
approximately March 31, 2001. RFPNIH-NIAID-DAIDS-01-18 will be

Requirements and Mandatory Qualification, if any, the Technical
Evaluation Criteria, and proposal preparation instructions. All
information required for the submission of an offer will be contained
in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal submission and the
initial review process, Offerors comprising the competitive range will
be requested to provide additional documentation to the Contracting
Officer. Responses to this RFP will be due on August 1, 2000. Any
responsible Offeror may submit a proposal which will be considered by
