The following tasks will be options to the proposed contract: Performance evaluation of the NAST-I instrument in the PROTEUS aircraft environment; scientific analysis of NAST-I data obtained in field deployments in or near California during fiscal year 2000; on-site participation in data gathering by NAST-I and SHIS during the Water Vapor IOP III (WVIOP3) field deployment in the mid-western United States; and initializing some improvements to the on-line storage of NAST-I data in the NOAA meteorological database, which would be available to the weather community via the internet. The following task was omitted in the original notice and should be considered as another requirement to the proposed contract: On-site participation in data gathering by NAST-I and SHIS during the Cloud IOP field deployment in the mid-western United States. This task will not be an option. Delete the following requirement: On-site participation in data gathering by NAST-I and SHIS during the SAFARI field deployment in South Africa in the latter part of fiscal year 2000. Add the following requirement as an option: provide support during field deployment of the NAST-I instrument for the Terra Underfly on scientific interpretations of the data as it is obtained on a real-time basis and also to provide calibrated radiance products for the deployment.
