LOGISTICS DATA SYMPOSIUM The US Army Tank-automotive & Armaments
Command sponsored the 9th Annual TACOM/Industry Logistics Data
Symposium, April 4-6 at the Northfield Hilton, Troy, Mich. The theme of
the symposium was "Military Logistics to 2010 and Beyond". The Michigan
chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) provided
administrative support in planning this event. The TACOM sponsored
symposium brought together over 450 government and industry
representatives to discuss issues and concerns relevant to the constant
changes in the logistics environment. The morning briefings, exhibits
and afternoon break-out session topics reflected all aspects of the
future of military logistics and provided insight on future military
concepts and strategies. Representatives from the government and
industry described the logistical and technical support required to
meet the Department of Defense mission. The presentations focused on
the Transformation of the Army; Logistics Modernization; 21st Century
NATO Cooperative Logistics Support; New Strategies; New Technologies;
Research & Development; Force Projection; Future of the Army Force
Structure; Future Maintenance Technologies; Future Combat Vehicles;
Current Initiatives in Acquisition/Logistics Reform; Contractors on the
Battlefield and 21st Century Transportation. The symposium received
rave reviews from the attendees and continues to be recognized as a
world class event. The briefings will be available for viewing on a
