The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, Virginia shall use Simplified Acquisition Procedures to place an order with Astarte Fiber Networks, Inc., 2555 55th Street, Suite 100, Boulder, Colorado 80301-5729 on a sole source basis. Astarte is the sole developer, designer and manufacturer of the modules which are used in the AEGIS Landbased Test Sites. The switches allow the AEGIS facilities to easily reconfigure equipment to support testing of all shipboard configurations in the AEGIS fleet with limited equipment. Due to the large quantity of switches at the various AEGIS sites, additional spare modules are required to ensure that enough switches are available on a 24-hours a day, 7-days a week basis. The modules being ordered as spares to the AEGIS facility located at NSWCDD are Model 7202 Fiber Optic Switching Modules. The quantity being ordered under this procurement is 5.
