Offcier -- Greg Hamberg The Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin
Automation Center (AAC), Austin, Texas, is contemplating negotiating a
sole-source procurement with Eberhard Klemens Corporation, for a new
software license for the subject product. Maintenance support, which is
included in the first year at no extra cost, includes providing updates
and enhancements to the software and providing reasonable technical
support. Since this procurement involves acquiring a new software
product this notice is being issued as a sources-sought for a
comparable product with the same functionality. It is contemplated that
the software will be installed on a CPU with 128 MIPS or 22 MSUs at the
AAC. Respondents must clearly demonstrate how their product compares to
Eberhard Klemens Corp.'s product by function. The Government must be
able to use the software at no additional cost to process data on a
fee-for-service basis and/or in a parallel sysplex environment.
Responses must be in writing and must be received within 7 calendar
days of this notice. In addition, responses must include pricing and
documentation in sufficient detail to allow evaluation of license and
maintenance fees. This includes the vendor's commercial price list, and
(if one exists) GSA contract and price list. Documentation includes the
vendor's standard commercial license agreement if the product is not
available on a GSA schedule. Pricing must state whether the software
license is perpetual or term; whether it is available on a GSA
schedule; whether it is licensed by site, by CPU (i.e., tier group,
MIPS, MSU, etc.), and/or by use (i.e., concurrent users, total users,
frequency of use, etc.). Responses received that do not include all
requested information will be considered non-responsive. No
solicitation document is currently available. The determination to open
competition based on responses received is solely within the discretion
of the Government, and if such determination is made, no additional
synopsis will be published. No telephone inquiries will be accepted.
Responses may be faxed to (512) 326-6028 to the attention of the
Contracting Officer, with the hard copy to follow in overnight mail. Or
