CORRECTION: The National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST), U.S. Department of Commerce has a project to renovate 2 and one half bays in Building 1, Wing 1. The renovation is to provide to new laboratories and a supply area. Building 1 is at the U. S. Department of Commerce Boulder Laboratories, 325 Broadway, Boulder, Colorado. The renovation will include demolition of space. The space is 4 laboratory bays 24 feet x 24 feet equals 2300 Sq. Ft. and a laboratory support room 28 feet x 27 feet equals 756 Sq. Ft. The contractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment necessary for the construction of two laboratories and a supply room along with the associated utilities. The additional utilities will be an air handler, chiller and transformers with switchgear which will require a concrete pad with mechanical room and a new 15kv power feed to the transformers. The new pad with caissons will be outside Building 1, Wing 1, next to the proposed laboratories. All work under the project, including as-built drawings, shall be produced using dual dimensions (English and metric). The project will be phased over two fiscal years. The magnitude of the requirement for fiscal year 2000 is between $250,000 and $500,000 and work is to be completed within 180 days from date of notice to proceed. The project for fiscal year 2001 has a magnitude between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the work is to be complete within 180 days from date of notice to proceed. Contract award will be made based on best value (lowest price, technically acceptable) to the Government with qualifications and experience, past performance and technically approach factors considered.
