Mumford (606)745-3127; Russ Christensen (812)547-7051 The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials and incidental supplies necessary to construct an access road to the U-38 Dam located on the Tell City Ranger District of the Hoosier National Forest in Crawford County, Indiana. This project is located approximately 1.5 miles east of Indiana Route 145; 5 miles southeast of Birdseye, Indiana. Take Dubois County Route 12 east off SR 145 approximately 1 mile, and turn left (north) on the next road to the left. The project starts at the Forest Service property line. A pre-quote meeting/site visit will be held on or around May 18 or 25, 2000, depending upon the issue date of the solicitation being on or around May 9, 2000. This project will consist of construction of approximately 0.98 mile of single-lane, aggregate surfaced road, with turnouts, to accesss the U-38 dam. The new road construction will include clearing, grubbing, preparation of roadbed and drainage structures; installation of approximately 11 culverts, and surfacing with 4 inches of No. 53 aggregate. The project will also include the obliteration of approximately 400 feet of existing roadway. The price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000.
