This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). One (1) each of an external cavity tunable laser diode. Must be tunable from 1530 nm to 1570 nm with a minimum of 1mW over the entire range. Must be mode hop free while tuning over the entire range in both directions. Tuning must be linear to within two percent when measured over .05 nm increments. The laser must be ruggedized and capable of being dropped from over 1 feet without damage. Laser must be fiber coupled to PM fiber with an FC/APC connector. Laser must be capable of scanning at a minimum rate of 100 nm/second. Laser must be controllable from a GPIB port. The provisions and clauses in theRFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-16. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3674 and 500, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. Delivery to LaRC is required within 60 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.
