The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is soliciting proposals for a comprehensive analysis of national level trends and issues as well as a development of supply and demand projections for approximately 30 selected health disciplines. These disciplines will include: Allopathic and osteopathic medicine, dentistry, physicians assistants, optometry, podiatry, pharmacy, chiropractic, veterinary medicine, allied health (including at a minimum, occupational therapists, physical therapists, clinical laboratory, respiratory care, radiologic care, dietetics, medical records, and speech-language therapy), nursing and public health. The contractor shall compile data such as supply/demand, employment trends, and other information needed to analyze the characteristics of the workforce, develop the projection methodology, develop projections, analyze the issues, and submit a final report. The successful contractor must demonstrate extensive experience in analyzing health workforce issues, projecting health workforce supply and requirements, modeling, preparation of health manpower related reports, and have contacts in primary care organizations and associations, state licensing boards, etc, in order to compile the requisite compendium of data. The period of performance will be 1 year. Solicitation will be issued on or about May 9, 2000. It is anticipated that the closing date will be on or about June 12, 2000.
