The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Coastal Systems Station, Panama City, Florida, intends to award a sole source contract to Saunders Yachtworks, Orange Beach, AL., to complete the conversion of 13 each, 24' Rigid Inflatable Boats to a Cummins engine and power train (Cummins BT5.9M1, Twin Disc MG-507 Transmission, and Konrad 520 Overdrive). This acquisition is not suitable for full and open competition for the following reasons: This is a follow-on acquisition for production quantities. Saunders was competitively awarded, and successfully completed, the prototype conversion contract.
