Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD has a requirement to procure
system design, engineering and integration support of the EM&D
phase of the ATFLIR. This requirement demands a detailed knowledge of
third generation medium wave infrared imaging systems, and specific
knowledge and familiarity with the F-18 Advanced Target Forward Looking
Infrared Receiver, along with extensive experience in modeling and
simulation, test and evaluation of Navy Advanced Electro Optical and
Infrared Imaging systems. Tasks included the following requirements,
performance modeling, develop and populate passive IR sensor
performance models and simulations. Reconcile measured laboratory and
field performance with predictions generated using models/simulations.
Update modeling. Exercise models in various scenarios. Laboratory test
support, sensor radiometry; sensor & laser resolution and
stabilization; electromagnetic interference (EMI) and shock and
vibration. Develop software for lab testing, data archiving/reduction
and analysis. Isolate causes for discrepancies and causes relating to
IR focal plane array readout noise, optical focus, component/system
sensitivity. Recommend test strategies. Flight test support, including
support for planning of resolution and recognition of flights.
Extracting information from digital and analog video. Develop software
to support flight data archiving/reduction analysis. Post flight
analysis related to FLIR performance. Extrapolate local results to
world-wide conditions. Isolate descrepancies and causes and determine
remedies. Preparation of presentation and turorial material. Travel in
support of this effort is required. OPSEC plan required. This
