DAAE30-97-C-1032 BAE SYSTEMS subsidiary VSEL Projects Ltd. is in the
process of establishing its US-based production for the XM777
Lightweight 155mm Howitzer. Production is scheduled to start in October
2001. Qualified firms are being sought for manufacture of
sub-assemblies and structures of the howitzer as well as final assembly
and test of the complete howitzer for delivery to the US Department of
Defense. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS INQUIRY BEFORE
CLOSE OF BUSINES 5PM EDT 10 MAY 2000. Firms responding for manufacture
of the howitzer structure must be qualified for welding and/or
machining titanium alloy 6Al4V. Interested companies may bid on all or
any work packages to be made available to qualified firms. Work
packages include: spade assemblies, stablizer assemblies, traverse gear
rack, body assembly, wheels and suspension, hydraulic systems, balance
cylinders, accumulator cylinder, buffer yoke assembly, and breech
opening and loading tray system. This procurement is restricted to US
companies.Thepurpose of this announcement is to identify and establish
