Z -- The maintenance dredging of Sawpit Creek consists of removing approximately 214,000 cubic yards of dredge material from the Inner Channel and placing on the beach or upland disposal area DU-2. The limits of this project represent dredging the channel to the appropriate project depth for each area plus an allowable 2-foot overdepth. The following Cuts are to be dredged to the appropriate project depth of 12 feet with 2-foot allowable overdepth for each: Cuts 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 26A, 27, 27A, 27B, and 27C. The dredged material will be placed in either the Upland Disposal Area DU-2 or placed on the beach, depending on the area being dredged. Material in Cut 27 will be placed into the upland disposal area. Material in Cuts 21 through 26A, and 27A through 27C will be placed on the beach along the southern tip of Amelia Island. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Invitation will be issued on or about 12 May 2000 and open on or about 13 June 2000.
