synopsis supersedes CBD Synopsis number 424159, issued 2/10/00, in its
entirety. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to release,
on a competitive basis, a firm fixed price Request for Proposal (RFP)
to upgrade a Government Furnished Aircraft Mounted Accessory Drive
(AMAD) Test Stand. This test stand is currently designed to run
Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) on the Repair and Overhaul (R&O)
of F/A-18C/D AMADs. The contractor will be required to modify the
existing C/D AMAD Test Stand to be capable of running ATPs on R&O
of F/A-18E/F AMADs. The effort will include the design, manufacture,
installation, and operational training for the modified stand. The
period of performance for this effort will be 12 months from contract
award. The tentative proposal due date is 23 June 2000 (see RFP for
firm date). The solicitation will be made available through electronic
data interchange. Interested parties can find the RFP on the NAVAIR
Web Site (http://www.NAVAIR.NAVY.MIL). Open solicitations are
specifically listed at
http://www.navair.navy.mil/business/ecommerce/index.cfm. A pre-proposal
conference (PPC) will be conducted at NAS North Island, CA prior to the
date for receipt of proposals. Interested parties should provide
information necessary to obtain details about the solicitation and
registration procedures for the PPC electronically by faxing their
request to Malyna Swyter, NAVAIR Code 2.2.3.3.6, at (703) 757-7070, or
e-mail to SWYTERMC@NAVAIR.NAVY.MIL. Information should include company
name, address, point of contact, phone number, fax number and e-mail
address, and whether or not the party is interested in attending the
PPC at NAS North Island, CA (registration will be required). Parties
will be notified of registration procedures two weeks prior to the PPC
date (tentatively scheduled for May/June 2000). See Note 26.*****
