The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate sole source procurement with Banian, 1761 West Hillsboro Blvd., Suite 317, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442 for a acquisition of PSA Mercury Speciation System equipped with Hewlett-Packard 6890 GC, autosampler, optic injector, preconcentration module, Merlin Atomic Fluorescence Spectroscopy (AFS) detector, integrated pyrolysis module, desktop 500 Mhz Pentium III PC, HP hardware and software (or equivalent). This system is a complete, integrated analytical system that permits prepared samples to be chromatographically separated, analyzed by AFS spectroscopy and the resultant instrument data processed by an integrated data acquisition/data calculation personal computer. System must have the ability to separate methyl mercury. EPA believes Banian, is the only vendor known that can provided this PSA Mercury Speciation System. Any firm which feels it is capable of satisfying the requirements stated above should fully explain their capabilities in writing within 15 days of the date of this announcement.
