The General Services Administration (GSA) announces their intent to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Construction Management (CM) Services for the new U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, Washington, DC. The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) has selected GSA for this procurement, which shall be conducted pursuant to the laws and regulations applicable to the AOC, and the resulting award shall be made by the AOC. GSA requests letters of interest from firms interested in participating in a negotiated Construction Management (CM) professional services contract to perform design phase services (excluding actual design), procurement phase services, construction phase services, testing services, claims support (if needed), and miscellaneous support services for the new U.S. Capitol Visitor Center on the East Plaza adjacent and connected to the existing U.S. Capitol. The estimated construction cost range of the Visitor Center is $200-$250 million. One CM firm fixed price contract will be awarded, subject to the availability of funds. The selection process will utilize source selection procedures in accordance with FAR 15.3. This negotiated solicitation is open to both small and large business firms. The RFP will be issued on or about June 5, 2000 and proposals will be due 30 calendar days after issuance. Copies of the RFP may be obtained by writing to Vincent E.
