NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION FOR ADVANCED DISTRIBUTED SIMULATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) intends to negotiate and award on a sole source basis the extension of Contract N61339-96-D-0002 (currently expiring 22 Oct 00). The extension is intended to be awarded to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Lockheed Martin Information Systems, Orlando, FL for a period of one (1) year to 22 Oct 01. The extension is required for services to continue support of the Core Distributed Interactive Simulation Facilities (CDF) under the Advanced Distributed Simulation Technology II (ADST II) contract along with Delivery Order support. Support services includes: Engineering (analysis design, & integration, logistics, program management, and operations/maintenance. Statutory Authority for this sole source extension is Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(d)(1)(B) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Any responses received within 45 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be taken into consideration by the Government.
