This facility has a total authorized square footage of 20,300 SF. The BEM Complex consists of offices, shops and storage to support Base Facilities Maintenance, the Civil Engineer Squadron, Prime BEEF Training, and the Disaster Preparedness Section. The complex is a single story structure. The overall building space allocation separates the Storage drive-thru facility from the Administrative/Shop functions on the site. Standing seam pitched roofs, red brick veneer, and architectural detailing compliance are required. The interior finishes selected have commercial grade closed loop carpet, painted gypsum board/metal stud walls and suspended acoustical ceilings for the offices and classroom. Bathroom floors & walls to have ceramic tile finish. Ceilings to be moisture resistant gypsum board. The "utility" functions such as the Storage Building & Shop areas have durable CMU walls (sealed & painted), sealed concrete floors and painted exposed structure. The structural system designed utilizes common materials and exceeds the minimum code requiring wind loading resistance. Spread concrete footings and grade beams support load bearing reinforced CMU walls. Light gauge steel trusses form the sloped roof structure with a metal deck and standing seam roof assembly. Reinforced concrete slabs on grade form the floor system. All structural components are non-combustible. Electrical power for the buildings will be obtained from the existing underground power system. Energy efficient lighting is in accordance with ANG Design Policy and will be centrally managed. Integration into the DDC management system is included. Area lighting for the parking lot (195 parking spaces) and work areas surrounding the building are accomplished through the uses of building mounted and pole mounted fixtures. Telephone and fiber optic cables are included to the building through the existing underground duct bank system. A fire detection system will be installed with all equipment necessary for connection to the existing base-wide fire detection system. Estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. A non-refundable charge, unknown at this time, will be required for each set of plans and specifications.
