Z -- MECHANICAL UPGRADES TO BUILDING SYSTEMS SOL SOL-DOJ-FAS-0-01-014 DUE 052500 POC Please contact Ms.PAM RHAME 202.305.8429 Mechanical -- Scope of Work (SOW): MAIN JUSTICE BUILDING -- Interim Construction 950 Pa. Ave., NW, Wash., DC 20530-0001 1. Room 1345 -- Remove existing ceiling hung A/C unit (FC-7) and return to the Government for storage, install new ceiling hung A/C unit (FC-13) -- provided by the Government, with all associated piping. Provide and install duct work, two (2) 24X24 perforated face supply and return air grilles, including insulation. Balance air and water flow. 2. CAO: Room 2341 -- Remove existing A/C unit (FC-3) and return to the Government for storage. Install new A/C unit (FC-5), change top grille to match with new fan coil unit, (Grille and FC-5 will be provided by the Government) and ensure chilled water line is 25mm. Balance water flow. 3. OPR: Room 3415 -- Furnish and install two (2) ton floor mounted chilled water Liebert A/C unit for computer room, 25mm chilled water lines and 32mm condensate drain line and insulation. Circuit the A/C unit to dedicated circuit in the attic panel for 24 hours of operation. Provide core drill hole through floor for piping to allow for connection to supply and drain below. 4. AG Kitchen: Room 5611 -- Replace 20mm chilled water lines with 25mm. Balance water flow. AG Dinning Room: Room5607 & 5609 -- Install new Government provided ceiling hung A/C(FC-12), provide and install new 20mm chilled water lines, 32mm condensate drain line, supply and return air grilles, including all insulation. Provide and install air duct, fire damper, volume damper, thermostat and diffusers as indicated on drawing. Balance air and water flow. Circuit all four (4) fan coil units to dedicated circuit in the attic panel for 24 hours of operation. Remove and reinstall exhaust fan and hood, duct work, louver as indicated on drawing. Provide power and fan switch. Provide and install rough-in for a sink, garbage disposal and dishwasher, including required shutoff valves. ( see attached drawing for layout). Provide and install 10 gallon electric water heater underthe counter. Install all the piping and valves as shown on drawing. Remove and relocate ice maker and all associated components. 5. DJRA: Remove two (2) fan coil units (FC-2) and return to the Government for storage and install two (2) new Government provided fan coil units (FC-4), with new enclosure provided by government, upsize chilled water lines from 20mm to 25mm. Remove one (1) fan coil unit (FC-2) and return to the Government for storage and install one (1) new Government provided fan coil unit (FC-3). Circuit these three (3) fan coils to dedicated circuit in the attic panel for 24 hours operation. Balance the water flow. Provide & install sink and all plumbing piping, valves, refer to drawing for more details. Plumbing must be done before or concurrent with AG kitchen project due to cross connection. 6. Travel Office: Room 1420A -- Remove existing ceiling hung A/C unit (FC-6) and return to the government for storage, and install new Government provided ceiling hung A/C unit (FC-7). Furnish & install one additional supply air diffuser and air duct as indicated on drawing. Provide and install one 10" X 6" acoustical sound lined Z-duct . Balance air and water flow. 7. JMD/Exec. Secretariat: Room 1410 -- Install additional air diffuser with associated duct work. Balance air flow. 8. OSG: Room 5143 -- Remove two (2) existing fan coil units (FC-3) and return to the Government for storage; replace with two (2) new Government provided (FC-5) as indicated on drawing,. Adjust the support legs of fan coils so that air filter can be removed through front cover grilles. Circuit the three (3) fan coils to dedicated circuit in the attic panel for 24 hours operation. Replace thermostats with new 3 speed/OFF fan thermostat, provided by the Government. Rooms: 5149 and 5603 -- Connect fan coil units to dedicated circuit in the attic panel for 24 hours circuit operation. The new circuit for rooms 5143, 5149 and 5603 is 5HPM4-8. 9. FBI Details: Rooms 5614, 5616 and 5618 -- Connect fan coil units to dedicated circuit in the attic panel for 24 hour operation. The new circuit for rooms 5614, 5616 and 5618 is 5HPM7-26. Note(s): -- Contractor is required to furnish and install new material throughout the project unless noted in this SOW or with written notice from the contracting officer. -- All work must meet excepted industry standards in accordance with applicable local and national codes. -- All supply & condensate lines must be insulated as is the building standard [typical throughout the building]. -- All material, installation and workmanship must follow the existing contract specification. [The contract specification will be provided for reference]. -- The contractor shall be responsible for all damage caused in the performance of his/her work. -- The contractor is responsible for providing all equipment necessary to perform his/her work. -- The work in this area can be accomplished between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. Authorization to work outside of these hours must be obtained from the contracting officer. -- The work site is in an area under renovation, therefore, workers are required to wear appropriate safety attire meeting applicable OSHA standards. -- The contractor and/or his/her agents are responsible for protecting all flooring, walls, doorways, etc. in the work area, as well as those areas immediately adjacent to the work area. All debris must be removed from the building at the end of each work day; there is no on-site dumpster facilities available. -- The Main Justice Building is a secure facility. The contractor will be required to submit the names, dates of birth and social security numbers of their staff prior to gaining access to the facility. No on-site parking will be provided, although contractor(s) will have limited access to the building to off load supplies. -- Work in this order is covered under the Davis-Bacon Act. Prevailing wage rates must be paid. -- A MANDATORY site visit is schedule for Thursday, May 18, 2000 at 1:00 PM for interested vendors to tour the site. [This site is in a construction zone. Attendees will be required to bring and wear hard hats]. Please provide a list of attendees and your company name indicating your intent to attend this meeting, via fax, by noon on May 15, 2000. Drawings, clauses [pertaining to this construction purchase order] and the appropritate Dept. of Labor wage determination will be provided. -- Contractor's submittal package must include a detailed cost quotation, description of previous experience on a minimum of three similar projects and the names, addresses and current telephone numbers of at least three references. As the Deparmtent of Justice has an urgent need to have this work accomplished, quotes are due by close of business on May 25, 2000 with an anticipated award date of May 30, 2000. The successful vendor will be expected to immediately begin performance. -- Drawings and assistance will be provided by Mr. Chau Tran, a Department of Justice engineer. Mr. Tran will be available at the on-site field office should clarification be needed. -- The equipment and material shall be consistent with all installed in Phase I area of the on-going modernization project of the MAIN Justice Building, assistance will be provided to select equipment and manufactures as needed by Mr. Tran.***** (3) Posted 04/26/00 (W-SN448715).
