Hultman, Contract Specialist, 309-782-3392 WORK TABLE NSN 4910-00-543-7771 The U.S. Government, TACOM-Rock Island,Illinois, is seeking suppliers for a commercial cabinet-base metal worktable with a laminated hard maple top, which is installed in mobile shop sets and used for maintenance operations. The following features are desired: a. Drawers (material -- metal): (1) Twelve drawers with nominal dimensions of 2.625 inch height, 5.625 inch width, and 17.438 inch depth. (2) Six drawers with nominal dimensions of 2.625 inch height, 11.250 inch width, and 17.438 inch depth. (3) Eight drawers with nominal dimensions of 4.500-inch height, 11.250 inch width, 17.438-inch depth. b. One shelf c. Two front opening bins with doors and locking provisions. The total numbers of drawers and shelves may vary as long as total storage area would be roughly equivalent. The drawers must be provided with a means for locking. Due to space limitation in the shop set enclosure, the envelope dimensions cannot exceed 35.5 inches high by 25 inches wide by 72 inches long. The worktable shall be capable of holding a load of 2400 pounds without causing the drawers and doors to bind or become unusable, and shall withstand vibration caused by movement of the shop over all types of terrain. The movement is similar to vibrations (simple harmonic motion) of 1/16 inch amplitude (1/8 inch total excursion) at a frequency of 600 cycles per minute (cpm) for a period of one continuous hour in the direction of the vertical axis. The worktable shall show no structural failures or defects of welds. The drawers, doors, and all working component parts shall function normally and smoothly after vibration, under loaded and unloaded conditions.
