0-0267&LocID=2422. E-MAIL: Joan Berman, joan.berman@ssa.gov. The
Social Security Administration (SSA), seeks a contractor to implement
the new National Survey of SSI Children. This survey will collect
nationally representative data on children that receive Supplemental
Security Income (SSI) benefits. These data will allow the Social
Security Administration (SSA) to answer a number of policy-relevant
questions about children with disabilities who receive SSI. The survey
has been designed by SSA with analytical assistance provided by its
contractor, Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. Responsibilities for
implementing the survey include: Programming the instruments into
CATI/CAPI and testing the CATI/CAPI versions of the instruments;
implementing the sample design; training both telephone and field
interviewers; collecting the data; preparing data files (coding,
editing, cleaning, imputing, assigning weights) and data documentation
(codebooks, users manuals); and conducting basic analyses and
comparisons to existing data. The questionnaires are currently in
paper-and-pencil form, but will be converted into computer assisted
instruments (CATI/CAPI) as part of this contract. The interview length
is approximately 60 minutes. The Government intends to award a cost
reimbursement completion type contract, period of performance from
September 2000 through March 2002. No phone requests will be accepted.
Proposals from all responsible sources will be accepted. Respondents
should refer to synopsis no. SSA-RFP-00-0267. All interested parties
must respond within 15 days of this announcement. This solicitation
shall be available on or about May 5, 2000, for download from the EPS
