The purpose of this modification is to advise that the following questions have been asked concerning the existing concrete floor in Hangar 5: (1) How was the concrete slab in Hangar 5 constructed? (2) What is the thickness of the slab? (3) Did they put a four (4) inch slab on top of the existing concrete floor? (4) Is there a bond breaker between existing concrete and the four inch slab? (5) Were dowels inserted into the existing concrete? (6) Are dowels sticking up? (7) Any steel reinforcement(s)? We inquired of Civil Engineers POC and were informed that there are no drawings or documentation that show how the slab was poured on the existing hangar floor. The only drawings that exist are already included in the bid package. Bidders may have to use their best judgments on how the slab was constructed. Bid date has been extended to 08 May 2000.
