The Production Estimates and Corp Assessment Division (PECAD) of the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) plans to issue a RFP to provide SPOT multi-spectral satellite imagery. The Contractor shall process subscription and ad-hoc satellite imagery orders for large volume, world-wide imagery acquisitions, process satellite imagery from raw imagery to geometric/radiometric corrected imagery, distribute the satellite imagery in industry standard, digital format within 12 days of satellite image acquisition or ad-hoc order. Based on the information available, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the government considers the items specified as Sole Source from SPOT Imaging,Corporation from Reston, Virginia, and propose to negotiate with this firm on that basis.
