The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with the International Trade Center/Ronald Reagan Building, Washington, DC for the items listed below in support of the Electronic Book 2000 Conference, September 25-27, 2000. Market research indicates that the Trade Center is the only facility in the Washington DC/Baltimore area that is able to meet all requirements over the specified dates. We therefore, intend to issue a Purchase Order on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) and 13.501. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A request for quotations (RFQ) is not available. Capability statements, which address all requirements, must be submitted no later than close of business May 4, 2000. REQUIREMENTS: (1) Room for general session set theatre style for 800 people, on Monday, September 25 through Wednesday, September 27. Room must be divisible into 2 sections. (2) Breakout room set theatre style for 300 people on September 25 and 27. (3) Room for approximately 40-50 exhibitors, allowing a 10' x 10' space for each, September 25-27. (4) Contractor shall also provide associated audio-visual equipment plus food and beverage (breakfasts, lunches, reception, and coffee breaks) for 700-800 people.
