The M249 Machine Gun is made up of 14 major assemblies each which contain from two to twelve individual parts and subassemblies. Castings, forgings, sheet metal, plastics are all contained. Live ammunition firing is involved in acceptance criteria. Extensive tooling required. Approved storage of live ammunition and automatic weapons and related safety requirements must be met. Any award resulting from this solicitation will be a two-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with a guaranteed minimum quantity of 500 each. FOB is Origin. Estimated issue date is 15 May 2000. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c) therefore hardcopies will not be provided.
