3 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFO FOR VACUUM CHAMBER SUPPLEMENTED WITH
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS NOTICE. Companies shall
acknowledge all amendment(s) in their offer. This notice serves as the
official amendment to the subject solicitation and a written amendment
will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to revised the
specification and delivery time of six (6) months. The revised
statement of work is as follows: 7Vacuum Chamber with 108" OD, 240"
overall length (including ends) 7Manufactured from type 304 stainless
steel 7180 grit brushed ID and glass bead blasted OD finish 7Chamber
will have the following ports as required (see sketch for placement):
(11) 11" OD grooved ASA ports, 8" OD tubing (6) 16" OD grooved ASA
ports, 12" OD tubing (2) 21" OD grooved ASA ports, 16" OD tubing (4)
32" OD grooved ASA ports, 24" OD tubing (4) 13.5" OD flat ASA ports,
10" OD tubing 71 MW uniformly distributed heat to walls cooled with
water cooling (200 psi)trace spaced 5" apart, cylindrical part of
chamber only. 1.00" rectangular tubes with .065" thickness swagelock
fittings acceptable 7Hinged, domed, Vitron o-ring sealed bolted door
one end, other domed end bolted. 7Interior support angle beams (6"x6")
welded to chamber walls in 4 locations. See sketch for placement.
Threaded holes (1/2"-13) every 6" along top of beam. 7Custom stainless
steel saddle supports (qty 5) to distribute weight under 350 lb/ft2
empty or 900 lb/ft2 fully loaded with 20k lbs test article and water.
Through holes at various locations around foot pad. 7Engineering
drawings will be sent for approval prior to manufacture 7Straps can
lift the chamber. Several lifting lugs per door. 7Chamber will be leak
checked with a helium mass spectrometer. 10^-9 scc/sec GHe. 7Chamber
will be vacuum washed with all ports covered with aluminum foil and
capped for shipment 7Tolerances: 1 0.125" linear, 1 0.50 angular
7Blanking flanges & O-rings included 7TIG welding acceptable. Offer
shall consult the revised vacuum chamber drawing (drawing revision
2)provided on the NAIS and CBD The due date for receipt of offers is
extended to May 13, 2000. Offers shall provide the information stated
in the synopsis/RFO posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service
(NAIS) and published in the CBD on March 1, 2000 . Documents related to
this solicitation will be available over the Internet. These documents
are in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0)
format and reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be
accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL,
