Postal Service is looking for a Category Manager who will partner with
the Postal Service to introduce a standardized range of USPS branded
stationery items and greeting cards within Postal retail sites. A
pre-solicitation conference will be held on May 17, 2000 beginning at
10:00 AM at USPS Headquarters, 475 L'Enfant Plaza, Room 4841,
Washington, DC 20260. The major functions the contractor must perform
are: Develop and produce an exclusive branded product line for
Stationery and Greeting Cards; Provide both the Stationery and Greeting
Cards lines in their entirety; Provide creative concepts for Stationery
and Greeting Cards items; Staff and operate customer service center(s)
to: (1) receive orders via telephone, fax, mail, and e-mail, directly
from USPS retail sites during normal USPS business hours, (2) answer
retail unit inquiries and concerns, (3) provide product information to
retail units, and (4) maintain a database on retail unit ordering
history; Visit retail sites to: (1) make contact with one or more USPS
employees within each location, (2) discuss operations/obtain
feedback, (3) check and record inventory level, (4) suggest reorder
assortment and quantity, (5) straighten products on shelves, and (6)
make sure stationery and greeting cards are displayed as effectively as
possible; Provide fixtures for presentation of product to include
merchandisers or slat wall; Process orders directly from and fulfill
orders directly to individual retail units; Produce and distribute
promotional materials to include: (1) signage for merchandisers and (2)
materials to be incorporated into the Retail Merchandise Guide; Perform
additional related tasks as required by the USPS; Staff and operate
fulfillment centers. The USPS intends to award one contract as a result
of the solicitation. It should be noted the USPS will not split awards
based on the different services required. The supplier must be able to
perform all the services using its own resources and through
