Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and
transportation to provide maintenance, repair, growth, and follow-on
service for an existing complete voice and data digital telephone
system. The telephone system encompasses all common equipment,
peripheral equipment, cable distribution system, including fiber optic
cabling, and overhead paging system. The telephone switch is a Nippon
Electric Company (N.E.C.) NEAX 2400 Information Management System
(IMS) MMG. Contractor shall have a 24-hour per day maintenance
capability in the Salem, Virginia area, and be capable of guaranteeing
two-hour response time to emergency maintenance calls 365 days a year
for the life of the contract. Contractor must provide on-site presence
of a minimum of one (1) NEC certified technician for a minimum of
eight(8)hours per day, five (5) days per week, during normal business
hours (7:45 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m.) to perform routine maintenance and
follow-on service. Offerors shall be required to submit both a
technical proposal and a cost proposal. Solicitation packages will be
available o/a May 17, 2000 and must be requested, in writing, to the
attention of the Contracting Officer (90C2) at the above address.
