E-MAIL: Leta R. Neyman, leta.neyman@dfrc.nasa.gov. NASA/DFRC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB)for Building 4840 Seismic Repairs. The work to be performed under this project consists of providing all labor, material, equipment, and quality control to perform seismic repair work for Building 4840. The contract is structured as base bid and two options. BASE BID -- The base bid work includes: 1. Weld existing vertical x-braces to existing gusset plates per contract drawings in all areas as indicated on contract drawings except in Option 1 and Option 2 areas. 2. Weld new cover plates with reinforcing stiffeners to existing columns and braces per contract drawings. 3. Weld existing cooling tower base frame to existing cooling tower support frame per contract drawings. 4. Demolition and replacement of gypsum board wall sheathing and finishes and wall mounted accessories in areas affected by structural repair work. 5. Removal and replacement of suspended ceiling and accessories in areas affected by structural repair work. OPTION 1 -- Option 1 work includes: 1. Weld existing vertical x-braces to existing gusset plates in Option 1 area per contract drawings. OPTION 2 -- Option 2 work includes: 1. Weld existing vertical x-braces to existing gusset plates in Option 2 area per contract drawings. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. The SIC Code and small busines size standard for this procurement are 1542 and $17M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about May 15, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about June 15, 2000. The provisions and clauses in the solicitation are those in effect through FAC 97 -- 15. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office. All responsible qualified sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
