The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Office of Space Science is releasing an Announcement of Opportunity (AO 00-OSS-02) for the next mission(s) in the Discovery Program. Selections of proposals through the final AO are intended to provide one or more mission launches by September 30, 2006. Missions of Opportunity investigations may also be selected. The science objectives covered by this AO include those in the currently defined Office of Space Science themes of Solar System Exploration and the search for extrasolar planetary systems element of the Astronomical Search for Origins. Participation is open to all categories of organizations, foreign and domestic, including industry, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, NASA centers, and other Government agencies.
