NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) to complete the development of coupled turbomachinery seal/main flow calculations begun under contract NAS3-27392. Tasks involved within this project include: Complete coupling of TURBO (main flow solver) and SCISEAL (secondary flow path solver); evaluate the feasibility of updating TURBO to the most recent version of TURBO and couple to SCISEAL as feasible; perform validation studies of coupled methodologies using experimental data being generated from other sources; deliver "turn-key" analytical source codes to NASA and to select NASA contractors; and develop an analytical approach to quickly evaluate competing interstage seal designs by extending SCISEAL's solution capability into the main flow path. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from CFD Research Corporation, Huntsville, AL citing U.S.C 10 2304(c)(1) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
