Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has a requirement for accounting services supporting the Financial Operations Department. The corporation maintains accounting records for some terminated pension plans before becoming responsible for managing its investments. The plan's financial activities are managed by a custodian who reports on them to PBGC, where they are recorded in the Trust Accounting System. PBGC is interested in the acquisition of accounting services relating to PBGC's Trust Operations. The required services include establishing account balances and cost basis for assets, recording financial transactions, reconciling and finalizing plan assets. A single award of a labor-hour contract is anticipated. The maximum duration of the contract is one base year plus four option years.
