Fairfax Drive, 4th Floor, Arlington, VA 22203 U -- TRAINING WORKSHOP ON CHEMICAL HYGIENE AND SAFETY FOR TEACHERS AND
LIAISONS, AMENDMENT SOL NDA410-00-R-0004 POC Ms. Melissa Phillips,
703-696-3844 x1414 WEB: DoDEA home page., Http://www.odedodea.edu.
E-MAIL: Melissa Phillips, contract specialist,
mphillip@hq.odedodea.edu. Question 1. Can the contractor assume that
participants will have basic computer knowledge/skills and/or Microsoft
Excel knowledge? Answer: Yes. 2. Will there be computers w/Excel
installed for hands-on workshops for participants? If so, then how many
computers will be available for participant use? Answer: Yes. We'll
have access to a computer lab, about twenty computers. 3. Section C.4
of the RFP states "the inclusion of available audio and/or visual
supplemented materials is considered a high priority." Does this mean
that a copy of any videos used during the training is to be provided to
each participant? Answer: No. Just to be included as a tool by the
instructor. 4. Section D.2 of the RFP states that the "contractor must
have knowledge and experience with requirements for handling and
disposing of hazardous chemicals in foreign countries where DoDEA
schools are located." Must the contractor have experience in all
foreign countries where DoDEA schools are located, and if so, where are
those countries? Answer: Offerors need to know the regulations for each
country in which DoDEA has a school. More information about schools and
locations is available at http://www.odedodea.edu 5. Is there a
document, similar to the SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement), for each
country where DoDEA schools are located that identifies what host
nation directives must be followed pertaining to hazardous chemical
handling and disposal? If so, will the contractor have access either
thru the internet or via hardcopy to this document? Answer: We don't
know. We need a contractor, who, by virtue of prior experience
instructing chemical safety for a K-12 academic environment (not
industrial type chemical safety or hazardous material control), can
continue our chemical hygiene training for our DoD teachers from all
the countries in which we operate. 6. Will the contractor have access
to the Science Coordinator or Regional/District Chemical Safety
Advisors either thru the internet or phone? Answer: Yes to Science
Coordinator. Can be arranged with Advisors. 7. Section E.1 of the RFP
states that "...one copy of course materials that will be used in the
training..." be provided to the Science Coordinator. What do you mean
by course materials (e.g. course syllabus, course topical outline, a
list of the videos to be used during the course, etc.)? Answer: All
materials that will be used and given to participants. (Note: this
requirement is the first deliverable required after award of the
contract. This is NOT a requirement for evaluation of the offerors
proposal.) 8. Section F.(4) of the RFP states that "the five references
as mentioned in Section C." Do you mean the references mentioned in
Section G of the RFP? Answer: Yes. 9. The RFP states that this workshop
is for liaisons and teachers and will be taught in Ft. Bragg, NC and
Wiesbaden, Germany. Will the participants be from DoDEA school systems
in different host nations? Answer: Yes 10. Will the training rooms be
equipped with chemical lab equipment? Answer: No. 11. Will the
Government be providing computers or will the contractor be
responsible? Answer: The Government will provide computers, see
question 4. 10. Will an LCD projector be available at Ft. Bragg and
Wiesbaden for use with Power Point Presentations? Particular equipment
needs by the contractor will be handled through the Science
Coordinator when contract is awarded. Posted 05/01/00 (W-SN450069).
