The work consist of two phases: Phase I -- Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, material, appliances, and devices to perform all operations necessary or required to mitigate high radon levels in the Bowling Green Federal Building, Bowling Green, KY. The building already has a radon system that controls radon levels for the rear of the building. The contractor shall install a multiple sub-slab suction radon system. The system will be installed in order to lower the radon level in Rooms B-2, B-25, and B-26 below the EPA action level of 4.0 pCi/1 using conventional EPA mitigation techniques. Phase II is an option line item. Phase II is to install up to eight 2" suction pipes through the 36" exterior walls in an attempt to intercept radon gas generated around the building's foundation. Contractor personnel conducting the work must meet the requirement set forth by the EPA National Radon Contractor Proficiency Program. The magnitude of construction is between $25,000.00 and$100,000.00.
