This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number RFQ-R5-03-00-42 applies and is issued as a Request For Quote. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-16. The Forest Service need is for the supply and load agency trucks with screened, pit run aggregate material with fines, screened to inch minus. Equivalent of Caltrans Class 2 Aggregate Base. Material shall be free from organic matter and other deleterious substances, and shall be of such nature that it can be compacted readily under watering and rolling to form a firm, stable base. Aggregate may include material from reclaimed asphalt concrete, Portland cement concrete, lean concrete base, cement treated base or a combination of any of these materials. The amount of reclaimed material shall not exceed 50 percent of the total volume of aggregate used. Aggregate shall conform to the grading and quality requirements: Sieve Size 1" with 100 % Passing; Sieve Size " with 90-100% Passing; Sieve Size No. 4 with 35-60% Passing; Sieve Size No. 30 with 10-30% Passing; and Sieve Size No. 200 with 2-9% Passing.. Approximate date for pick up is May 29, 2000. Project site is near South Tufa Interpretive Site in Mono County, California. This is for a fixed price contract for one line item as follows: LINE ITEM 01: Estimated Quantity 14,000 Tons.
