Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome Research Site (AFRL Rome) has a
requirement for a Millennia IR Diode Pumped Solid State Laser. This is
a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this announcement. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT
CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A
WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Synopsis/Solicitation
F30602-00-Q-0231 is being issued as a Request for Quote, incorporating
provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular
97-5 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. Additional information
may be obtained at the Electronic Posting System (EPS). The proposed
contract action is for 1 each, Millennia IR, completely air-cooled high
power, Diode Pumped Solid State laser producing greater than 10 watts
of CW power at 1064 nanometers. Single Mode. (TEMoo Beam of M squared
less than 1.1). Optical noise less than 1%. Complete compact system
including FCBar power supply and remote control. Operates on 110/220
Volts AC with less than 20 Amps, single phase power. Requirements are
for delivery FOB Destination to the Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome
NY by 15 Jun 00. The SIC Code is 3699. It is the intent of the
Government to award a contract on a sole source basis to
Spectra-Physics, 1335 Terra Bella Avenue, PO Box 7013, Mountain View CA

Vendors are STRONGLY encouraged to use the Standard Form 1449 as the

has been appointed to hear significant concerns from offerors or

not to diminish the authority of the contracting officer or program
manager, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements
